Valentines Past

Many are the times my heart has sung

Many more it's been painfully wrung

Countless days I've spent walking on clouds

Countless more shedding tears in crowds

Former heartbreaks uselessly spent

Lesson learned - this time was different

O how her charms my heart had won

O how sure that this was the one

No longer young but very much in love

Our love was surely blessed from above

No doubt this time was for life

This heart stealer would be my wife

And now? Now I look back in appreciative wonder

At all my romances torn rudely asunder

Realizing none would've held my heart fast...

No longer mourning Valentine's past
