Treasure Chest

O selfless Savior who for me did bleed
As does my body, my soul too has need.
I hunger! I thirst! My Lord come and feed.
Strengthen and nourish this soul You have freed.

Welcome sweet Jesus, most honored guest.
Come Thou and linger within my breast.
Come dearest Love and here take Thy rest.
Come Priceless Jewel, make of me Thy treasure chest.

O exquisite, heavenly delight,
Enter in and make my soul take flight.
Stay with me thru the day and then the night -
Until I again receive Thee with the morning’s light.

O beauty divine, hidden from my eyes
In the most simplistic, breaded disguise,
Make my trembling, hungering soul to rise -
Free, if but briefly from its earthly ties.

The cares of this world, my strength too soon depleting.
Yet how blessed am I at this happy meeting;
Joined to eternity - while still on this earth so fleeting.
You, Jesus, my every true desire completing.
