I Want To Be That Man

One day I happened to meet
An elderly man walking down the street
I want to be that man

Stooped shoulders that once were straight
Proud, bold step now tired hobbled gait
I want to be that man

Tossled golden locks that refused to lay
What little's left is washed out gray
I want to be that man

Perfect smile glistening white
Camoflauged by yellowed dentured bite
I want to be that man

Firm supple skin with ruddy tones
Succumbed to gravity sags on bones
I want to be that man

With a growth on his arm for 50 years
Thru all his joys and smiles and tears
I want to be that man

For he's arm in arm with the love of his life
His loving, beaming, radiant wife
I want to be that man
