Misfit Toys

A Jack-in-the-Box named Charlie
A toy motorcycle named Farley
A doll with no arms to hug
A choo-choo train that can only chug

A stuffed peacock too ashamed to preen
A barbie doll that can't bear to be seen
A little toy soldier without a swagger
A ballerina that can only stagger

A slinky without any bounce or stretch
A minus-the-knobs Etch-a-sketch
A Care Bear that only wants to struggle
A teddy bear too stiff to snuggle

A bleeding heart that loves too much
A gentle soul in search of a loving touch
I'm a big teddy bear without the label
That says love me as much as you're able

Day after day on the roam,
Searching for some place to call home
No one will call and no one to phone
Another evening spent all alone

Another unseen, lonely tear
Another silent plea no one will hear
Amid the deafening absence of noise
I know I belong on the "Island of Misfit Toys"
