So Much Greener

The grass is so much greener when viewed thru a smile
Everyone is worthy and lovable to the soul lacking guile
Others' aching souls are easily bandaged by the gentle soul
Life's burdens become but stepping stones when heaven is the goal
Happiness is contagious from the heart overflowing love
The mundane become beautiful when seen with a view from above
The tainted soul begins purification by resisting temptation
The downtrodden receive hope anew by donning the helmet of salvation
The weakest coward becomes champion by grabbing faith's shield
Whoever disposseses all earthly attachment earns an infinite yield

Etch a smile within that I might paint the world a beautiful green
Root out guile that I might clothe all with a worthy sheen
Make me a gentle tool that I might be a balm for wounded souls
Lock my sight on heaven that my worst days are but leisurely strolls
Overwhelm me with love that I might infect all the earth
Let me view things thru your eyes that I might know their true worth
Help me overcome my temptations that my soul regain some of its white
Glue hope's helmet to my head that I might show the doubting a new light
Make my faith immutable that I might be thy indomitable weakling
Loose earthly possessions bond that I might attain heavenly seating
