Elegant Sorrow

With head held high
She seemed to walk the sky
Amidst clouds painted on china blue

With each step of silent pain
Hidden tears flowed like winter's rain
Her brown eyes a sombered hue

Her love had left her forever
Embarking on deceitful endeavor
And breaking her heart in two

He'd found another lover -
Shattered her heart's fragile cover.
It was she painted the sky blue

And so she walks alone
Her silent beauty shown
To all who come into view

All the bitter pain she held
All the hurt that inward dwelled
Highlight the beauty of she who had loved true

This is a variation of a poem by my young friend Shanna. She had a rhyme scheme that I liked - a rhyming couplet followed by a last line that rhymed from verse to verse. Plus Shanna painted a picture that just touched me. With her permission, here is my version.
